With many matches across the state postponed, rescheduled or canceled due to rain and wet field conditions, there were few changes in this week's Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association girls state polls.
The top two spots in each of the four divisions determined by a panel of coaches remained the same as last week, and 38 of the 40 teams ranked in this week also were in the preseason polls. The two newcomers checked in at No. 10 in their respective divisions: Wisconsin Rapids in Division 1 and Columbus in Division 4.
Brookfield Central kept hold of the No. 1 ranking in the Division 1 state poll, but fell 14 spots to No. 46 in the Top Drawer Soccer Spring Fab 50 national rankings.
The Lancers dropped a 2-0 decision to New Trier (Ill.) on Saturday in Winnetka, Ill. – the Trevians, whose backline includes University of Wisconsin recruit Sam Urban, moved up to fifth in this week's TDS Fab 50. The loss snapped Brookfield Central's 19-game unbeaten streak (16-0-3), which dated to a 1-0 loss to Menomonee Falls in a WIAA regional final back on June 6, 2015.
Milwaukee DSHA won its first two games of the season and remained No. 2 in the state poll, and rose nine places to No. 27 in the TDS Fab 50. The Dashers and Lancers are second and fifth, respectively, in the TDS Great Lakes Region rankings and continue to lead the website's state rankings ahead of Waukesha Catholic Memorial.
Brookfield Central is the only Wisconsin team in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America Region III rankings, checking in at No. 9.
