Two state teams will start play in the U.S. Adult Soccer Association Region II Amateur Cup next month.

Bavarian SC, which advanced to the national final last summer, will play host to Minnesota club Stegman's 1977 in a quarterfinal at 7 p.m. April 22 at Heartland Value Fund Stadium in Glendale. The Milwaukee Brewers, meanwhile, were drawn away to the Michigan Future Stars for the quarterfinals.

This is a new format for the Region II tournament; in recent years, the event has been played at one site over a weekend. The Bavarians won all four matches at last June's tournament in Saginaw, Mich., posting three clean sheets and allowing just one goal.

The Bavarians went on to host the Amateur Cup semifinals and final last August on their home turf in Glendale, scoring two late goals to tie Texas' Legends FC 2-2 and winning 5-4 on penalties before falling to Maryland's Christos FC 2-0 after extra time in the final.

Stegman's won the Minnesota Amateur Soccer League and the Minnesota Cup last year, and the Twin Cities club also operates the Minneapolis City SC of the National Premier Soccer League. Coincidentally, the Bavarians were scheduled to play their former Premier League of America rivals in a friendly on April 22 in Wisconsin Dells, but the match will be rescheduled in light of the Amateur Cup draw.

Should both Wisconsin teams advance, they would meet in a Region II semifinal hosted by the Brewers at the FC Wisconsin Complex in Germantown.

The Bavarians (6-0-1) lead the Wisconsin Soccer Leagues Major Division heading into the spring season, with the Brewers in second with a 5-2-1 record. The teams are scheduled to play a league match May 7 in Germantown; a potential Amateur Cup match would need to be completed by May 14.

The bottom half of the Region II bracket includes RWB Adria from Illinois, which won the Amateur Cup on 2011 and '13 and lost to the Bavarians in last year's PLA final, and 2015 Amateur Cup champion Quinto Elemento from Kansas.
