Milwaukee Marquette's Alec Philippe earned one more prep accolade before heading off to Ohio to start his college soccer career at Wright State.
The forward recently was named to the second team of the inaugural All-USA Boys Soccer Team, as selected by USA Today High School Sports. Players were chosen based on their performance, level of competition and strength of schedule.
Philippe led the Hilltoppers (20-2-0) with 27 goals and added 12 assists as a senior last fall, and had 54 goals and 21 assists in his two-year varsity career – Marquette won WIAA Division 1 state championships each season with him in the lineup.
He closed out his prep career with a state tournament record-tying three assists as the Hilltoppers topped Hartland Arrowhead 5-2 for their unprecedented 11th title.
Philippe previously was named a high school All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, co-State Player of the Year by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association and the Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year.
