Emily Cervantes returned to the soccer field for Waukesha Catholic Memorial on Tuesday night and promptly moved up the state's career goal-scoring and points charts.

The junior forward, rested for the past few weeks to help heal a nagging knee injury, scored her 21st goal of the season in the Crusaders' 3-1 victory over Mukwonago in a Classic 8 Conference match at Waukesha South High School.

It was the 137th goal of her career, snapping a tie with former Hustisford standout Brandi Peltier for third place in the state record book. Only Ozaukee's Ashley Bares (224) and Waunakee's Heather Willihnganz (158) have scored more goals in a career in state history, according to the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association record book.

Cervantes, who has verbally committed to Tennessee for 2016, added her sixth assist of the season against Mukwonago. She has 307 career points, tied with Sugar River's Hannah Kernen for fifth place in state history and one behind Peltier for fourth.
