Oct. 25, 1998: Jesse Marsch (Racine Case) played the full 90 minutes as the expansion Chicago Fire beat D.C. United 2-0 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., to win the third MLS Cup. Marsch had been part of United's championship sides in each of the league's first two seasons before being selected by the Fire in the expansion draft.
