Two of the best soccer players in UW-Milwaukee history joined the school's Bud K. Haidet Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Former men's soccer standout Antou Jallow and women's star Josha (Krueger) Kruvand were part of the five-member class inducted into the Hall at a ceremony at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.
Jallow, a native of Uppsala, Sweden, wrote his name all over the Panthers' record books during his career from 2001 to '04. He is the program's career leader with 60 goals in 77 appearances, ranks second with 133 points and was the Horizon League Player of the Year in 2002 and '04.
As a sophomore in 2002, the 6-foot striker set school records with 24 goals and 53 points and was named a third-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Jallow, who helped Milwaukee qualify for the NCAA tournament all four years, went on to play professionally with Gefle IF and Sandvikens IF in his homeland and with the Portland Timbers in the USL First Division.
Kruvand was the anchor of the Panthers' backline from 1994 to '97, amazingly playing every minute of every game in her four-year career. During her senior season, Milwaukee allowed just 12 goals in 20 matches, good for a 0.55 goals-against average that ranks second in program history.
A three-time All-Midwestern Collegiate Conference and NSCAA third-team all-region selection, Kruvand's No. 22 was retired in 2001 and she was named to the program's all-time team as part of its 25th anniversary celebration in 2008.
