After being without a club for nearly a year, Tony Walls (Wauwatosa East/UW-Green Bay) resumed his professional outdoor soccer career Saturday.

The 27-year-old midfielder signed with USL side Saint Louis FC and promptly made his debut with the club, coming on at halftime of a 2-1 home loss to the Charlotte Independence on Saturday night.

In his most recent full season outdoors, Walls was named to the All-USL first team and helped the Rochester Rhinos to the league title in 2015. He had four goals and two assists, logging a team-high 3,023 minutes as the Rhinos went 22-1-11 in all competitions. Walls had one goal in three games (two starts) for Rochester last year before the team parted ways with the former club MVP in June 2016.

Prior to joining the Rhinos in 2014, he spent time with Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire (2012) and played indoors with the Milwaukee Wave (2013-14). Walls also played in the Major Arena Soccer League with the Cedar Rapids Rampage last winter – he had 17 goals and two assists in 20 appearances.

• Rose Lavelle (UW) recorded her first assist as a professional Sunday, setting up the the lone goal in the Boston Breakers' 1-0 victory over Sky Blue FC in a National Women's Soccer League match Sunday in Allston, Mass. (Watch highlights below) Lavelle, drafted by the Breakers with the No. 1 selection in January's NWSL College Draft, played a great through ball to Natasha Dowie, who finished off the pass in the 37th minute. • Andrija Novakovich (Muskego) and the Reading Under-23 team will play host to Norwich City on Sunday at Madejski Stadium in a Premier League Cup semifinal, with the winner to face Swansea City or Portsmouth in the final.
