ODP Interregionals: Sheboygan's Lacey makes girls 2000 all-star team

Defender Bonnie Lacey (Sheboygan North/Lakeshore United) was named to the 2000 all-star team for the U.S. Youth Soccer Girls Olympic Development Program Thanksgiving Interregional, which was Nov. 20 to 25 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Alyssa Bombacino, a midfielder from Plainfield, Ill., who has verbally committed to Marquette for 2018 along with Lacey, also was named to the 11-member team after helping the Region II side finish 1-1-1 at the event.

  • Forward Tamirat Knutson (Schofield D.C. Everest/Portage County YS), midfielder Will Taylor (Madison West/Madison 56ers) and the Region II boys 2001 team finished 1-1-1 at the IMG Interregional from Dec. 14 to 18 in Sarasota, Fla.
  • Six state players were part of Region II boys sides at the Florida Interregional from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 in Bradenton, Fla. Midfielders Andrew Schweinert (Brookfield Central/Bavarian SC), Austen Schweinert (Brookfield Central/Bavarian SC) and Manuel Valenzuela (New Holstein/North Shore United) and forward Jackson Dryden (Whitefish Bay/Bavarian SC) were on the 1999 team, while midfielder Jack Longville (Eau Claire Memorial/St. Croix SC) and defender Nolan Wolf (Racine Prairie School/SC Waukesha) played with the 2000 side. Both teams dropped all three of their matches at the event.
