FC Wisconsin Eclipse goalkeeper Jennifer Wandt (Brookfield East) is one of 96 players selected for the Elite Clubs National League/id2 National Training Camp, a four-day event that started Thursday in Portland, Ore.

The camp features the nation's top girls players born in 1998, 1999 and 2000, who were selected based on their performances in ECNL competitions, ECNL/id2 events and other events. Wandt has verbally committed to play at Baylor starting in 2017.

The national camp is a collaboration between the ECNL, U.S. Club Soccer's id2 National Player Identification and Development Program and Nike, and is sanctioned as an Olympic Development Program by U.S. Soccer and the U.S. Olympic Committee.

  • Joe Raasch (Germantown/Kettle Moraine Lutheran) started at pivo and wore the captain's armband as the U.S. Youth Futsal Under-16 boys national team tied Colombian side Itagüí 3-3 in a friendly Thursday in Medellin. The team will play two more matches during its time in Colombia.
  • Three Wisconsin referees are among the 97 chosen to officiate at this week's U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas. Elkhorn's Dylan Seitz and Appleton's Ryan Shanklin (Grade 6) and Waukesha's Erik Orlowski (Grade 7) are the state representatives among the 24 referees from Region II at nationals. Referees were selected based on their performances at state and regional events.
