High-scoring Waukesha West senior forward Dani Rhodes was one of four repeat selections on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Winter-Spring High School All-American team.

Rhodes, the two-time Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year who is headed to the University of Wisconsin in the fall, ranked second in the state with 48 goals this season. Her career total of 136 goals set a program record and left her tied for fourth in state history with Hustisford's Brandi Peltier (2008 to '11), according to the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association record book.

Senior goalkeeper Olivia Myszewski, the WSCA Player of the Year, joined Rhodes on the 28-player honor squad. The Quinnipiac recruit posted a 0.74 goals-against average as the Dashers went unbeaten in 20 matches against state teams (17-0-3) en route to winning their second WIAA Division 1 state championship in three years.

Rhodes and Myszewski will be honored at the All-America Luncheon on Jan. 14, an event being held in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention in Los Angeles.

• Kaylee Siegle (Menasha), an honorable mention WSCA all-state selection as a senior this spring who will play at UW-Parkside, played for the AIST Stripes team at the United World Games last month in Klagenfurt, Austria. The team finished 3-1-0 in group play and fell to Austrian team SV Magdalensberg 2-1 in the semifinals, then received a forfeit victory over SV St. Jakob im Rosental in the third-place match.
• Waukesha Catholic Memorial (23-1-2) was fifth in the spring's final NSCAA/USA Today Region III poll, while DSHA was 10th. Top Drawer Soccer, meanwhile, had the Dashers sixth, Brookfield Central (15-0-3) seventh and Catholic Memorial ninth in its final Great Lakes Region rankings.
• The Crusaders, who became the first prep soccer team in state history – boys or girls – to win state titles in five consecutive seasons. The only other team to win four straight state championships is the Brookfield Central girls, who claimed WIAA Division 1 titles from 2002 through '05.
• Catholic Memorial extended its WIAA record with its ninth championship (2004, '06, '07, '10, '12, '13, '14, '15 and '16) and has 12 state titles overall – the Crusaders won Wisconsin Independent Schools Athletic Association crowns in 1996, '99 and 2000. Milwaukee Pius is second on the overall list with 10 titles (nine WISAA and one WIAA).
• The Crusaders are unbeaten in their past 30 playoff matches, going 29-0-1 since a 1-0 overtime loss to Madison Edgewood in a Division 2 state semifinal back in 2011. Catholic Memorial has outscored opponents 166-8 with 22 shutouts during that span, including a 41-1 combined score in six postseason matches this season.
• Emily Cervantes wrapped up her phenomenal prep career ranked second in state history with 197 goals and 444 points for Catholic Memorial – Ashley Bares (Ozaukee/Marquette), now an assistant coach for the Golden Eagles after playing professionally in Iceland, holds the records in both categories with 224 goals and 505 points from 2004 to '07.
• Cervantes did surpass Bares in one category: With a hat trick in the Crusaders' 5-0 victory over Sugar River in the Division 3 state final, the Tennessee recruit finished with 13 career goals in WIAA state tournament play, breaking Bares' record of 11.
• Catholic Memorial senior midfielder Maureen Burke set state records for assists in a season (40) and a career (90). Appleton Xavier's Fallon Peplinski held the previous mark with 39 assists in 2012, while Brookfield Academy's Elizabeth Collins had 88 assists during her career from 2010 to '12.
• Crusaders coach John Burke, who has won more games than any prep girls soccer coach in state history, has led the Crusaders to a 477-50-36 record in his 22 seasons. Burke's .878 winning percentage also is tops in the state coaching record books.
• Brookfield Academy's Anika Washburn finished with 44 goals and 31 assists for 119 points, the third-best season point total in state history. Cervantes' 114 points this season ranks fifth in the category.
