The four teams that will play for the U.S. Adult Soccer Association National Amateur Cup on Aug. 5 and 6 at Heartland Value Fund Stadium in Glendale learned their semifinal opponents on Monday.

Bavarian SC was drawn against Texas' Legends FC, while California side Moreno Valley FC will take on Maryland's Christos FC. (Watch draw below)

The host team will play in the second semifinal Aug. 5 at 8 p.m., with the weekend's first match set for 5:30 p.m. The championship and third-place games are scheduled for the same times the following night.

The Bavarians, who won the Region II title earlier this month, will face a Legends FC side making its third consecutive appearance in the Amateur Cup semifinals. They lost to the eventual champions each of the past two years, falling to the New York Greek Americans in 2014 and to Kansas' Quinto Elemento last year.

Region III champion Legends FC plays in the North Texas Premier Soccer Association in Dallas, and won the regular-season title in the league's top division this spring before losing in the playoff final.

Their roster includes several former professional players and one Wisconsin native: Anthony Santaga (Green Bay Notre Dame), who played against the Bavarians from 2011 to '13 with the Madison 56ers when both clubs fielded teams in the National Premier Soccer League.

"Looking forward to coming back up to Bavarian Park," the 24-year-old Santaga wrote in a Twitter direct message.

Region IV representative Moreno Valley FC won the United Premier Soccer League Southeast Division title this season, but lost in the regional semifinals. Their semifinal opponent, Christos FC, is 26-0-1 in all competitions this season and also advanced to the national semifinals in the USASA Werner Fricker Open Cup.

  • There's only one Premier League of America match featuring state teams this week, as the Madison 56ers (0-4-2) play host to the Croatian Eagles (1-3-3) in West Division play at 7 p.m. Saturday at Breese Stevens Field – the teams meet again a week later at Croatian Park in Franklin. The Milwaukee Bavarians (3-0-3) continue to top the West table with 12 points; the Cedar Rapids Rampage and SSC Minneapolis City are both 3-1-3 and level on points, but the Bavarians have played one fewer game. • UW's Tom Barlow had a natural hat trick, scoring three straight goals in a half-hour stretch spanning halftime, and Badgers midfielder Alex Masbruch (Slinger) added three assists as the Des Moines Menace throttled WSA Winnipeg 9-0 in a Premier Development League match Saturday in West Des Moines, Iowa. The Menace (8-1-1) suffered their first loss Tuesday, falling 1-0 to the host Chicago Fire Under-23 team, but still hold a three-point lead on the Fire Under-23s in the Heartland Division standings with a game in hand and four matches left. Barlow was an honorable mention choice on the PDL Team of the Week and has five goals for Des Moines, which has outscored opponents 32-3 on the season.
  • The Madison Soccer Association Division 2 final between top-seeded Epic FC (10-4-2) and No. 2 seed Vilas Rangers (8-7-2) is set for July 8 at Goodman Pitch at Verona's Reddan Soccer Park. The match was pushed back because the defending champion Rangers' semifinal against third-seeded FC Metro on June 10 was suspended due to inclement weather and had to be continued at a later date; they led 2-0 at the time the game was suspended and ended up winning by that score. Vilas Rangers beat Epic 3-2 in April in the teams' lone regular-season matchup.
