Milwaukee DSHA was unbeaten in 20 matches against state foes this year, allowing just six goals in those games, and Olivia Myszewski was a big reason for that.

The goalkeeper, who is headed to NCAA Division I Quinnipiac in the fall, was named the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year this week after capping her senior season by helping lead the Dashers to the WIAA Division 1 state championship. DSHA beat Madison West 1-0 in Saturday's final in Milwaukee for its fourth WIAA title and second in the past three years.

Myszewski posted a 0.74 goals-against average for the Dashers (17-6-3), who went 17-0-3 against Wisconsin opponents this spring. She was named to the All-Greater Metro Conference first team for the third straight year and was the GMC Player of the Year as DSHA shared the league championship with Brookfield Central.

Teammate Amanda Durst joined Myszewski on the 11-player WSCA All-State first team. The senior, a Loyola (Ill.) recruit, anchored a Dashers backline that recorded 14 clean sheets and added seven goals – three of those coming in the postseason.

The other defender who made the top team was Waunakee senior Jada Dayne.

The Michigan recruit, the daughter of former University of Wisconsin Heisman Trophy-winning running back Ron Dayne, was named to the first team each of her four seasons; full historical records aren't readily available, but it appears she is the first person to accomplish the feat since former Waukesha Catholic Memorial standout Leslie Osborne did so from 1998 to 2001. Dayne had three goals and three assists for Waunakee this season.

Five of the six forwards on the top squad were seniors, led by Catholic Memorial's high-scoring striker Emily Cervantes.

The Tennessee recruit had 50 goals and 14 assists in her final prep season; her 114 points rank fifth in state history, according to the WSCA Record Book. Cervantes' name is all over that publication: She ranks second in state history in career goals (197) and career points (444) – Ashley Bares (Ozaukee/Marquette), now an assistant coach for the Golden Eagles after playing professionally in Iceland, holds the records in both categories with 224 goals and 505 points from 2004 to '07.

Cervantes, the 2013 and '14 WSCA Player of the Year, has three of the top six performances for goals in a season and she played an integral role as the Crusaders became the first state prep team to win five consecutive state championships.

Waukesha West senior Dani Rhodes, a WSCA Co-Player of the Year and the two-time Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year, also made the first team. Rhodes, a UW recruit, had 48 goals and 11 assists as the Wolverines advanced to the Division 2 state semifinals and is tied for fourth in state history with 136 career goals – Brandi Peltier (Hustisford/Ripon) scored the same number of goals from 2008 to '11.

Senior Jen Brien helped 2015 state champion Oregon get back to the Division 2 state final, scoring 20 goals and adding five assists. The Southeast Missouri State recruit ended her four-year career with the Panthers with 58 goals and 27 assists.

Courtney "Coco" Wiencek and Mequon Homestead tipped Waukesha West 2-1 in the semifinals and outlasted Oregon 2-1 on penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw in the Division 2 final to claim the program's fourth title and first since 2007. Wiencek, who will play at Division II Winona State (Minn.), scored a team-high 21 goals.

Haley Hartkemeyer was hugely influential for Division 1 state semifinalist Eau Claire Memorial, as the UW-La Crosse recruit racked up 37 goals and 15 assists in her final prep season. The other first-team forward was sophomore Emma Staszkiewicz, who had 31 goals and four goals for unbeaten Brookfield Central – the Lancers (15-0-3) played DSHA to a pair of 1-1 ties, including one in the sectional semifinals that ended with the Dashers advancing 7-6 on penalties.

Midfielder Alyssa Barnes and Neenah also saw their season come to an end against DSHA, with a 2-1 loss in a sectional final. Barnes, a UW-Green Bay recruit, helped the Rockets claim a share of the Fox Valley Association title with Appleton North.

Green Bay Notre Dame midfielder Trudy Quidzinski joined Staszkiewicz as sophomores on the otherwise senior-dominated first team. She had a huge season with 24 goals and 22 assists for the Tritons, who fell to Catholic Memorial 2-0 in a Division 3 state semifinal.

Duerst and Rhodes joined Dayne as repeat selections on the top squad, while Myszewski, Brien, Wiencek, Hartkemeyer and Barnes moved up after being "Best of the Rest" selections a year ago.

The WSCA changed the format of its All-State team this season, naming an 11-player second team and honorable mention in addition to the first team. Muskego senior defender Jenny Fischer was a second-team pick this year after making the first team in 2015.
