Seventeen Wisconsin teams learned their group schedules for the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which start Friday in Westfield, Ind.

Ten state boys sides and seven girls teams are set for regionals, including 14 teams that claimed Wisconsin State Championships.

The other three Wisconsin teams – the Milwaukee Bavarians and Elm Grove SC Under-16 boys sides and the Bavarians' Under-17 boys team – earned spots in the tournament based on their performances in the Region II Midwest Regional League this season. Two of the three MRL qualifiers were placed in groups along with state champions, meaning there will be a pair of matchups between Wisconsin sides: Bavarians against SC Waukesha Blue in both Under-16 and Under-17 boys play.

Group play is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with semifinals scheduled for June 28 and the finals in all 14 divisions June 29. Region II champions earn berths in the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships, which are July 26 to 31 in Frisco, Texas.

SC Waukesha leads the state with six teams at regionals, while the Bavarians have four and North Shore United and Elm Grove have two each. Sides from the Madison 56ers, Strike FC Wisconsin and United Hurricanes round out the state contingent.
