Five clubs celebrated State Cup titles Sunday as the Wisconsin State Championships concluded with nine state final matches at Scheels USA Youth Complex in Appleton.

SC Waukesha took home four championships on the day, giving the club six of the 13 titles awarded by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association this season – two of those came last fall, when the four girls divisions featuring high school-age players were contested to avoid conflicts with the WIAA high school season.

In addition to the state championships, the winning sides also earned berths in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which are June 25 to 29 in Westfield, Ind. Several Wisconsin teams that didn't win state titles also have qualified for the regional tournament thanks to their performances in other competitions.

SC Waukesha claimed championships in the Under-13, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-17 boys divisions, the latter two coming on kicks from the spot following matches that were still tied after regulation and extra time.

Bavarian SC teams won the Under-15 and Under-18 boys titles – they were among five sides to win every match they played in during the State Cup this year. The SC Waukesha Under-13 boys and the United Hurricanes Under-14 girls joined them in winning all five of their games, while the Elm Grove SC Under-19 boys won all four of their matches – and outscored opponents 30-0 in the process.

The Madison 56ers rode a stout defense to the Under-13 girls title, shutting out three of their five opponents and posting three one-goal victories, including their 1-0 win over Strike FC Wisconsin Premier-1 in Sunday's final.

And the United Hurricanes also won their championship game by the slimmest of margins, with the team from Howard scoring twice in the final 5 minutes to rally past and stun SC Waukesha 2-1 in the Under-14 final.
