Thirteen state clubs will be represented in Saturday's semifinals of the Wisconsin State Championships, having won group titles over the holiday weekend at Scheels USA Youth Complex in Appleton.

SC Waukesha leads the way with seven semifinalists in the eight age groups that still have four teams remaining in the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association event, while Bavarian SC has four and FC Wisconsin Nationals, the Madison 56ers and Strike FC Wisconsin have three apiece.

The State Cup semifinals are Saturday in Appleton, with the finals to follow on Sunday. In addition to the state title, champions earn berths in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which are June 25 to 29 in Westfield, Ind.

Elm Grove SC is one four clubs with two semifinalists, and also saw its Under-19 boys team advance to the state final – the four teams that entered the competition played round-robin group play over the weekend. The Blues outscored opponents 27-0 in winning their three matches and will play Appleton SC in next Sunday's final; Elm Grove won 7-0 when the teams met in pool play on Sunday.

Twenty teams joined the Blues in winning all three group matches – including all four semifinalists in the Under-13 boys division – while seven other sides joined them in posting three clean sheets on the weekend.
