Axel Sjöberg (Marquette) and the Colorado Rapids kept up their impressive start to the Major League Soccer season Saturday night, with Sjöberg's first career goal giving them a 1-0 victory over the host Seattle Sounders. (Watch below)

The 6-foot-7 center back headed in a corner kick by Marc Burch in the 43rd minute as the Rapids (8-2-3) extended their unbeaten streak to eight matches. Colorado leads the Western Conference and is averaging a league-best 2.08 points per game.

Sjöberg, who earned his first career assist on April 30, was named to the MLS Team of the Week after opening his goal-scoring account in his 25th career match.

"I was looking for it," said Sjöberg, who had 11 goals and nine assists in 63 appearances (all starts) at Marquette from 2011 to '14. "I was working with (fellow center back) Bobby Burling trying to get (Sounders defender) Zach Scott out of the picture. We set a little pick, and I got free and got my head on it."
