Patrick Ruhland (Mount Horeb/UW-Milwaukee) scored in the opening minute and added another goal in the second half, and Robbie Boyd (Milwaukee Marquette/UW-Milwaukee) had three assists as Bavarian SC cruised past North Shore United 5-1 in the Wisconsin Amateur Cup final Saturday afternoon at Heartland Value Fund Stadium in Glendale.
In addition to raising the state trophy, the Bavarians also earned a berth in the U.S. Adult Soccer Association Region II Amateur Cup, which is June 10 to 12 in Saginaw, Mich.
Dan Holowaty, who had four goals in a 14-0 win over Milwaukee's Simbas SC in the semifinals a week earlier, set up Ruhland's early opener and gave the home side a 3-0 lead with a goal of his own in the 41st minute.
Kyle Crain (Cedarburg) kept up his great run of form and pulled NSU within 3-1 midway through the second half, but Boyd set up Ruhland for his second of the day moments later to restore the Bavarians' three-goal cushion. Dogara Zomani finished off the scoring in the 84th off a feed from Boyd, who also assisted on a goal by Andre Francois (Brookfield East/UW-Milwaukee) in the 30th that made it 2-0.
