The schedules are set for group play at the Wisconsin State Championships, a Memorial Day weekend tradition in state youth soccer.

The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association recently announced schedules for the Under-13 through Under-18 boys and Under-13 and Under-14 girls divisions for the State Cup matches at Scheels USA Youth Complex in Appleton.

The 132-team event will kick off on Friday, May 27, with a pair of Under-18 boys matches, which were moved up to avoid conflicts with high school graduation ceremonies. All of the other sides will play group games May 28, 29 and 30, looking to claim spots in the June 4 semifinals. The finals are scheduled for June 5.

State champions earn berths in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which are June 25 to 29 in Westfield, Ind. The Under-15 through Under-18 girls competitions were held last fall to avoid conflicts with the WIAA high school season.
