Paula Wilkins, who led the University of Wisconsin women's soccer team to a share of its first Big Ten Conference regular-season title since 1994 last fall, will be honored as the Madison Sportswoman of the Year next month.
The Madison Sports Hall of Fame Club will present the award to Wilkins at its annual banquet June 1 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, in conjunction with the induction of new Hall of Fame members.
Wilkins has compiled a 98-61-24 record in nine seasons with the Badgers after six successful seasons at Penn State, and has a 217-80-35 career record. She was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year for the sixth time in 2015, joining 1996 winner Dean Duerst (Madison Memorial/UW) as the only UW women's coaches to earn the honor.
