Jose Jesus Torres headed in a corner kick with 7 seconds left as the Madison Futsal League's Forge won the U.S. Youth Futsal Under-14 boys national championship in dramatic fashion Monday in New Century, Kan., getting past Texas' Team X 3-2. (Watch highlights below)

Team X, which beat the Forge 5-1 in a crossover group match Sunday, opened the scoring only to see Simon Sisk pull the Wisconsin side level as both teams scored in the opening minutes.

The Texas team took a 2-1 lead into halftime, but Erich Legut's strike 4 minutes into the second half tied the score again and the teams played more than 20 minutes before Torres got free on the corner kick served in by Collin Bjerke and sent a header past the Team X goalkeeper to win it.

The Forge, coached by league founder Ilir Lushaj and UW-Platteville men's coach Enzo Fuschino, cruised past Missouri sides Sporting Kansas City Academy Argyle 8-2 and Sporting Blue Valley Man United 7-2 in their other Group C matches Saturday night before losing to Team X on Sunday afternoon.

The Midwest Regional champions bounced back quickly, beating Michigan's ABK Academy 6-5 in the semifinals Sunday night, and won the rematch against Team X the next day for the title.

"We needed to defend better in 1v1 situations and we played with lower pressure, giving them less space to counter and attack us at speed," Fuschino wrote in a Facebook message. "They beat us earlier with their speed but our adjustments, and the kids playing solid, great futsal paid off."
