Milwaukee Bavarians defender Evan Donini (Waukesha West) was one of 14 players named to the All-Star team for his performance at last month's U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Boys Winter Interregional in Bradenton, Fla.

Donini and the Region II team finished third at the round-robin event for players born in 2000 with a 1-2-0 record. In addition to the three games, players also trained under U.S. Soccer national staff and collegiate coaches during the event.

  • Elm Grove SC's John Burke was named the North Region Girls Youth Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for 2015. Burke's Under-14 team won the Wisconsin Developmental Academy Blue Division title last fall, outscoring opponents 13-1 in winning all five of its matches. The team also finished third in the Midwest Regional League First Central Red Division with a 5-2-0 record, allowing just four goals in its seven games. Burke was one of four finalists for the national award, which went to Chris Black of Ohio's Kings Hammer SC.
  • FC Wisconsin's Under-16 and Under-17 teams each finished 1-2-0 at the Elite Clubs National League event last week in Sanford, Fla. Taylor Kerwin (Whitefish Bay) had both goals for the Under-17 side in a 2-0 win over Georgia's Gwinnett SA, while Mikaela Hoard (Mequon Homestead) also had two goals at the event. Emma Jaskaniec (Menomonee Falls) drew a penalty converted by Ali Menard (Whitefish Bay) and also scored, and Elyse Bennett (De Pere) had the other goal for the Under-16 team in a 3-2 win over North Carolina Fusion. FC Wisconsin returns to action Feb. 13 to 15 with an ECNL event in Houston, with the club's Under-15 and Under-16 sides set to compete. Results, schedules and rosters
