Madison's Takumi Ikeda was called back into training camp with the U.S. Under-15 boys national team.

He's one of 36 players headed to the camp in Sunrise, Fla., which starts Sunday and concludes Dec. 20. The camp will include an intrasquad match Dec. 16 and friendlies against Florida clubs Kendall FC and Weston FC on Dec. 19.

Ikeda, a 13-year-old midfielder who plays club soccer with the Chicago Fire, took part in his first national team camp in September in Carson, Calif.

  • Victoria Pickett, the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year this fall for the University of Wisconsin, and Canada rolled to the Group A title at the CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The Canadians outscored Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Honduras by a combined 11-0 margin to advance to Friday's semifinals against Mexico. The two finalists and the third-place finisher earn berths in next year's FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Papua New Guinea. The championship and third-place matches are Sunday. Pickett started against Trinidad and Tobago and played 66 minutes on the backline, but hasn't appeared since.
