Nov. 13, 2009: Sophomore Michele Dalton made two saves as the University of Wisconsin women's team outlasted Arizona State 4-3 on penalty kicks following a 1-1 tie in an NCAA tournament first-round match at the McClimon Complex in Madison. Playing their first NCAA home game in nine years, Leigh Williams gave the Badgers the lead after just 99 seconds, but the Sun Devils leveled the score in the 72nd minute and made their first three kicks from the spot. But Dalton denied Courtney Tinnin in the fourth round and, after Roxanne Carlson (Cedarburg) gave UW a 4-3 advantage, the goalkeeper made a diving stop on Jill Shoquist's shot to send the Badgers into the second round.
