Nov. 7, 1987: Hai Nguyen and Jay Feuerstein scored first-half goals as De Pere Abbot Pennings tipped Whitefish Bay Dominican 2-1 to claim its first – and only – Wisconsin Independent Schools Athletic Association boys soccer state championship. The Fighting Squires knocked off three-time defending champion Milwaukee Marquette 1-0 in the semifinals to earn their third state finals appearance.
