Wisconsin Soccer Central

Two state boys players were called into a U.S. Soccer Training Center scheduled for Nov. 10 in Schaumburg, Ill., after their performances at a similar event last month.

Erich Legut (Waukesha) of FC Wisconsin Nationals and Takumi Ikeda (Madison) of the Chicago Fire were invited to the training center, which will be led by U.S. Soccer Youth National Team coaches and staff.

Legut and Ikeda were among six Wisconsin players with 2001 and 2002 birthdates who took part in a training center in October in Bridgeview, Ill., one of approximately 200 such sessions held throughout the country each year. 

• Another FC Wisconsin Nationals player, Jordan Stump (Verona), was selected for a U.S. Club Soccer id2 training camp Dec. 10 to 13 in Casa Grande, Ariz. The camp is for players born in 2002. The id2 Program is an Olympic Development Program as approved by the U.S. Soccer Federation and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
• The SC Waukesha Blue Under-14 boys team learned its group placement and schedule for the 2015-16 U.S. Youth Soccer National League. Coach Marcio Leite's team, the fourth state side to play in the competition in its nine-year history, was placed in the Red Division and will play Texas' Solar Chelsea Red, Arizona's Valparaiso United Futbol, Georgia's Concorde Fire Central Elite and California's SLA Nomads at the National League Fall Showcase from Dec. 10 to 13 in Wilson, N.C. SC Waukesha's other matches will be March 11 to 13 against Pennsylvania's Beadling, Virginia's Bethesda South and Missouri's Sporting J.B. Marine in Las Vegas in conjunction with the Player's College Showcase.
