Maegan Kelly (Marquette) scored in the 64th minute to snap a tie and host Åland United went on to beat Nice Futis 3-2 in a Naisten Liiga match Saturday in Finland.

It was the third goal in 10 league games for Kelly, who has seven goals in 12 appearances in all competitions in her first season in the Finnish top division after stints with FC Kansas City in the National Women's Soccer League and UMF Stjarnan in Iceland last year in her first professional season.

After she put Åland United (8-2-2) ahead, teammate Cynthia Uwak scored a minute later to push the lead to 3-1 and the home side held on to extend its unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2) and remain third in the 10-team league. The team has six matches remaining before the top six sides split into the championship round to battle for the title, while the bottom four teams play the relegation round.

  • Midfielder Katie Bethke (Eau Claire Memorial) made her debut for Swedish club Eskilstuna United DFF, coming on at halftime of a 3-1 victory over host Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC on Sunday. Bethke recently joined Eskilstuna United (7-2-0), which is second in the 12-team Damallsvenskan after spending the first half of the season with Mallbackens IF Sunne. On Twitter: @kbethke3
  • Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) scored his fourth goal in five games Sunday, finishing off Columbus Crew SC's 3-1 victory over the 10-man Chicago Fire, and also was part of some Major League Soccer history. (Watch highlights below) In the opening moments, Kei Kamara flicked on a ball for Finlay streaking through the middle and Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson came off his and clipped Finlay's leg as he shot, leading to a penalty kick just 13 seconds in – the earliest penalty ever awarded in an MLS game. Federico Higuain converted from the spot for the early lead. Then in the 83rd, Chad Barson played a cross in from the right side through traffic and Kristinn Steindorsson touched it on for the onrushing Finlay, who finished against Johnson for his sixth goal of the season as the Crew beat the Fire for the second time in four days. On Monday, the former Creighton standout was named to the MLS Team of the Week for the third time in the past month. On Twitter: @EFinlay13
  • Calum Mallace (Marquette) picked up an assist for the second straight week, but it wasn't enough to keep the Montreal Impact from a 2-1 loss at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. With the Impact down 2-0, Mallace played a ball from the center circle in his own half to Ignacio Piatti on the left flank, and the Argentine attacker beat a defender and scored in the 59th minute to cut the lead in half. • After ratifying its new collective bargaining agreement with the league, the MLS Players Union released salary information for its players last week. Finlay, who signed a two-year contract extension last fall, leads the Wisconsin contingent with $142,500 in guaranteed compensation this season – he made $65,847.50 last year in the final year of his three-year rookie contract. Houston Dynamo second-year defender A.J. Cochran (UW) is next at $76,375, with Mallace and a pair of rookies, Axel Sjöberg (Marquette) of the Colorado Rapids and Fire midfielder Matt Polster (Milwaukee), at $75,000. Seattle Sounders rookie goalkeeper Charlie Lyon (Marquette) is making the league minimum of $50,000. Full MLS salary information
