Charles Kazlauskas

After six seasons at Helmond Sport, Charles Kazlauskas (Milwaukee Thomas More) is looking to continue his career at another Dutch club.

The versatile 32-year-old is on trial with Achilles '29 in Groesbeek, about an hour north of Helmond on the Netherlands' eastern border with Germany.

Achilles' 29 finished 18th in the 20-team Eerste Divisie – one spot below Helmond Sport – last season, its first in the second division after earning promotion from the amateur Topklasse.

Kazlauskas made 197 appearances for Helmond Sport, playing as a right back and midfielder and scoring 17 goals. He joined the club after four seasons at TOP Oss from 2005 to '09, following stints with N.E.C. (2001 to '05) and Fortuna Sittard (2003-04).

  • Calum Mallace (Marquette) recorded his first assist of the Major League Soccer season Saturday in the Montreal Impact's 3-0 home victory over Columbus Crew SC. Jack McInerney played a short corner kick on the left side to Mallace, who in turn found Marco Donadel. The defensive midfielder unleashed a 30-yard strike that beat Crew goalkeeper Steve Clark for his first MLS goal, giving the Impact a 2-0 lead in the 8th minute. (Watch below) It was Mallace's fourth career assist in 42 league appearances. On Twitter: @CMallace10
  • Maegan Kelly (Marquette) was the second star of the match Saturday as host Åland United beat FC Honka 2-1 in a Naisten Liiga match in Finland. Kelly has five goals in 11 appearances in all competitions for Åland United (7-2-2), which is third in the 10-team league with seven matches left in the round-robin portion of the season – the league then will split, with the top six sides playing for the championship and the bottom four teams battling to avoid relegation.
