Audi Jepson (Green Bay Preble) was named to the USL Premier Development League Team of the Week after a great week in Canada.
The UW-Green Bay midfielder scored in each match as the St. Louis Lions went unbeaten in a three-game road trip north of the border, tying the Thunder Bay Chill 3-3 last Wednesday before sweeping WSA Winnipeg 3-2 and 3-1 last Friday and Saturday.
Jepson secured the draw against the then-unbeaten Chill with a 79th-minute goal, then netted the game-winner in the 65th two nights later against Winnipeg. He finished off the weekend by scoring the opener in Saturday's win as the Lions (4-5-2) extended their unbeaten streak to four.
University of Wisconsin midfielder Drew Conner was an honorable mention selection after helping the Chicago Fire Under-23 team beat the Springfield Synergy 2-1 last Wednesday.
- Charlotte Lady Eagles forward Justine Hovden (Lake Geneva Badger), who wrapped up her college career at Baylor last fall, was named to the USL W-League Team of the Week. Hovden played a role in all of her team's goals in a 4-2 victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks last Friday, scoring twice and setting up the other two goals. Dayton Dutch Lions midfielder Josee Stiever (Cedarburg) earned honorable mention.
- Vickie (Georgakas) Cook, who starred for the Milwaukee School of Engineering women's soccer team from 2004 to '07, is one of nine former Raiders athletes who will be inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 17 at the Kern Center. She finished her career with 31 goals and 14 assists, which ranked first and second in program history at the time, and helped lead the team to a 9-7-3 record as a senior – it was the team's first winning season after 11 consecutive losing seasons, and MSOE has posted a winning record in every season since.
