The Milwaukee Torrent announced Wednesday that the first open tryout for their inaugural 2016 season will be held Oct. 16 at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

The tryout is limited to the first 28 players registered; if more players are interested, Torrent owner and coach Andreas Davi said the team will schedule another tryout Oct. 23 at Uihlein. Registration costs $80, plus a $2.99 online processing fee. Online registration link

The Torrent, who will be a charter member of the new American Soccer League 2, also plan to hold additional tryouts throughout the state during the fall. Davi said he anticipates carrying 20 to 24 players on the roster for 2016 – the Torrent already has signed two players, forwards James Weber (Hartford) and Ian Bennett.
