After scoring twice to help ensure Canada's passage into the third round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 World Cup last week, Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) will rejoin the national team later this month ahead of the Gold Cup.

The Hapoel Haifa attacking player officially was named to coach Benito Floro's 23-man roster for the regional tournament on Tuesday.

The Canadian team will gather June 28 in California and train before opening Group B play July 8 against El Salvador in Carson, Calif. They'll then face Jamaica on July 11 in Houston before heading home to Toronto, where they will play host to Costa Rica at BMO Field in the first Gold Cup match to be played in Canada.

The 27-year-old Ricketts has earned 39 caps and 10 goals in his international career, including two goals in a 4-0 win over Dominica in a second-round CONCACAF World Cup qualifier June 16 in Toronto. Canada won the two-leg series 6-0 on aggregate.
