Sarah Hagen (Appleton North/UW-Milwaukee) scored her first goal of the National Women's Soccer League season Friday night, firing a header past Michelle Betos, but the Portland Thorns goalkeeper did the same later in the evening.

Betos' stoppage-time header off a corner kick canceled out Hagen's 51st-minute goal as the host Thorns pulled out a 1-1 draw with FC Kansas City in Oregon.

Hagen rose up over defender Rachel Van Hollebeke and Betos to head in a free kick by Jen Buczkowski for her first goal since Aug. 6. (Watch highlights below) She has five goals and two assists in 18 appearances for FC Kansas City since joining the team last June after three seasons with Bayern Munich in Germany.

  • Seattle Sounders 2 goalkeeper Charlie Lyon (Marquette) was named to the USL Team of the Week after making eight saves in his side's 2-1 loss to host Arizona United on Saturday night in Scottsdale. The 23-year-old Lyon has played all but one match for Sounders 2 in his first professional season, posting a 1.77 goals-against average and two clean sheets. On Twitter: @Charlie_Lyon_
  • Midfielder and captain Tony Walls (Wauwatosa East/UW-Green Bay) set up Christian Volesky's 87th-minute equalizer as the Rochester Rhinos remained unbeaten in USL play with a 1-1 draw against the host Harrisburg City Islanders on Friday. The Rhinos (8-0-5) fell behind late in the first half – it was just the second time this year they've trailed in a league match – before Walls found Volesky on the left side of the box in the final minutes, leading to the rookie's team-best fifth goal of the season. Rochester's 13-game unbeaten streak matches the longest such streak in team history, a record set in 1998. On Twitter: @TWalls20
