University of Wisconsin forward Tom Barlow had quite a night Friday.

Barlow, a Big Ten Conference All-Freshman team selection for the Badgers last fall, had a hat trick to lead Reading United AC to a 5-2 victory over the host Baltimore Bohemians in a USL Premier Development League match.

The St. Louis native scored in the 29th, 54th and 70th minutes and was named to the PDL Team of the Week. Midfielder Michael Catalano, another Big Ten All-Freshman pick for UW in 2014, also is playing with Reading United (4-1-2) – the Pennsylvania side is second in the Eastern Conference Mid-Atlantic Division.

  • Ocean City Nor'easters defender Eric Schoendorf (Delafield/Waukesha Catholic Memorial), who wrapped up his college career at Loyola (Ill.) last fall, was an honorable mention selection on the PDL Team of the Week. On Twitter: @Schoendorffffff
  • Vanessa Legault-Cordisco (Marquette) was named to the USL W-League Team of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal and helping anchor the backline in the Laval Comets' 2-0 victory over the host New York Magic on Sunday. The defender has played in all six matches for the Comets (3-2-1), who are third in the Northeastern Conference. On Twitter: @vanessacordisco
  • UW midfielder Rose Lavelle came off the bench and scored the opening goal as the host Seattle Sounders Women blanked the Santa Clarita Blue Heat 2-0 in a W-League game Friday. The U.S. youth international is tied for ninth in the league with four goals and sixth with three assists in three games for the Sounders, who have outscored opponents 31-3 in winning all seven of their matches.
