Bryce Wilkerson was the main source of offense for the Elm Grove Blues Under-16 boys team at last weekend's U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Presidents Cup, and the Brookfield East forward delivered goals when his team needed them the most.

Wilkerson scored in the final minute of regulation to pull the Blues into a 1-1 tie with Indiana's Flood SC in Sunday's final, then converted his shot from the spot as the Elm Grove side claimed the regional title 5-3 on penalty kicks in St. Charles, Mo.

A day earlier, Wilkerson scored the lone goal in the 3rd minute as the Blues posted a 1-0 victory over Windy City Pride 71 – the result gave them the Group A title on the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Illinois side and a berth in the final.

Wilkerson also had the opening goal in Elm Grove's 2-1 victory over North Dakota's Tri-City Storm on Thursday, with the game-winner coming thanks to an own goal in the 69th. Milwaukee Marquette's Gerardo Ornelas scored the Blues' other goal at the tournament in Friday's 3-1 loss to Kansas side KC Fusion Eaton.

In addition to the Region II crown, the Blues earned a spot in the National Presidents Cup, which is July 9 to 12 in Overland Park, Kan.

Three other state boys teams played in the regional, with the the Central FC-Respect Under-17 side and the Racine United Under-14 team each finishing 1-2-0 and the MC United Galacticos going 0-2-1 in the Under-13 competition.
