Matt Pyzdrowski (Marquette) finally got a chance to play to play a league match for Swedish club Helsingborgs IF, and the goalkeeper didn't disappoint his new team.

Pyzdrowski stopped all nine shots he faced, including a 77th-minute penalty kick, as Helsingborgs tied host Örebro 0-0 in Allsvenskan play Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Pyzdrowski signed with Helsingborgs in January after four seasons at Ängelholms FF in the second-tier Superettan.

He battled incumbent goalkeeper Pär Hansson during the preseason, but suffered a foot injury late in the preseason and has been the backup since returning to health. Hansson fell ill earlier in the day Wednesday, giving Pyzdrowski his first start.

Örebro, which hit the post or crossbar three times in the match, had a chance to break through from the penalty spot after a handball was called 13 minutes from time. Pyzdrowski, though, went to his right to deny Ahmed Yasin's penalty and Helsingborgs held on for the point.
