The Milwaukee Torrent continue to build the roster for their inaugural 2016 season, with forward Ian Bennett announced Thursday as the second player to sign with the new professional team.

Bennett, 29, has played for the Milwaukee Wave for the past six seasons, leading the team with a career-best 40 goals in 24 appearances overall last season. He has 125 goals and 43 assists in 129 regular-season matches in his career with the Wave.

A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Bennett also played indoors with the Chicago Storm and has featured for the Canadian national futsal team, but he's played three seasons of professional outdoor soccer, too.

Bennett had three goals in 47 appearances with the Charleston Battery (2007) and Rochester Rhinos (2010) in the USL First Division and the Richmond Kickers (2008) in the USL Second Division. He also spent time with the Palm Beach Pumas in the USL Premier Development League in 2006, and has played with Milwaukee-area amateur teams in the Wisconsin Soccer Leagues.

He joins James Weber (Hartford) on the roster for the Torrent, who are expected to announce their league affiliation by the end of the month.
