The Elm Grove SC Blues Under-18 boys team won the Showcase Blue Division at last weekend's Kings Hammer adidas Blue Chip Showcase in Cincinnati.

The Blues beat a pair of Illinois teams, GLSA Libertyville FC 1974 6-0 and Team Evanston Premier 3-2 after tying Canadian club Vaughan Azzurri 2-2 in their opener. That gave them 25 points in the tournament's scoring system, one more than Ohio's Cincinnati United Premier Gold – which is ranked first among U.S. Youth Soccer Region 2 teams and 19th in the country by GotSoccer.com.

Brookfield SA's Red Under-18 team also went 2-0-1 and finished third in the 10-team Showcase Red Division at the 148-team tournament.

Croatian Eagles Red (1-0-2) took second out of 10 teams in the Under-17 Showcase Grey Division, while the Milwaukee Bavarians (1-1-1) were third out of eight teams in the Elite 1 Blue Division and North Shore United (1-1-1) finished fifth in the 10-team Showcase Blue – NSU's victory was a 3-0 triumph over Georgia's UFA-Norcross Fury Premier, ranked sixth in the nation.

Rush Wisconsin's Under-15 and Under-16 sides each went 0-1-1 in their respective Showcase divisions.

  • The FC Wisconsin Nationals had a tough weekend in Michigan, as all three of their teams were swept by Crew SC Academy Wolves and Vardar in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play. Abdul Kooistra (Madison Memorial) scored a 36th-minute equalizer for the Under-17/18 team, but Wolves went on to a 2-1 victory on Saturday in Livonia, Mich. A day later in Rochester, Mich., Blake Carr (Hartland Arrowhead) recorded his team-best ninth goal of the season and Daniel Giraldo added his first in a 4-2 loss for the Nationals (6-11-3). Robleh Omar (Madison West) had both goals on the weekend for the Under-15/16 team, which lost to Wolves 6-1 and Vardar 5-1 to fall to 6-13-1 on the season, while the Under-13/14 side dropped 3-0 and 5-1 decisions. All three teams are back home Saturday to face Sockers FC at the club's complex in Germantown. FC Wisconsin Nationals results/schedules/rosters
