Oak Creek's Margaret Domka (Stevens Point/UW-Stevens Point) was a referee at the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup last summer in Canada.

She's headed north of the border again this summer for a bigger assignment: the FIFA Women's World Cup.

On Monday, the FIFA Referees Committee announced the roster of officials for the tournament, which is June 6 to July 5 in six Canadian cities, and Domka made the list. She was the only American chosen among the 22 referees, seven support referees and 44 assistant referees selected from 49 countries.

This is the first Women's World Cup assignment for the 35-year-old Domka, who is a Spanish teacher at Union Grove High School.

She's officiated in the past two Under-20 Women's World Cups in addition to international matches, and was in the center for last year's National Women's Soccer League championship game. In 2009, Domka became just the 10th woman certified as a FIFA referee, and was only the third American woman to achieve the status.

She and the other referees selected for the Women's World Cup will participate in two seminars before the tournament, the first from April 18 to 24 at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, and the other May 27 in Vancouver.
