FC Wisconsin Nationals post two shutouts against Sockers FC

Abdul Kooistra (Madison Memorial) scored both goals and Aidan Hogan (Kohler) recorded the clean sheet as the FC Wisconsin Nationals Under-17/18 team blanked Sockers FC 2-0 in a U.S. Soccer Development Academy match Saturday in Schaumburg, Ill.

Kooistra found the net in the 49th and 86th minutes for the Nationals (4-8-3), who ended a 10-match winless streak with their first victory since Sept. 21. The University of Wisconsin recruit leads the team with six goals on the season.

The club's Under-15/16 side continued its unbeaten start to the spring with a 0-0 draw against the Sockers. Stephen Clemens (Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah) picked up his fourth shutout of the season and second in a row for FC Wisconsin (6-8-1), which is eighth in the 13-team Mid-America Division in the USSDA's Central Conference.

The Sockers beat the Nationals' Under-13/14 team 4-0, dropping the FC Wisconsin side to 0-11-1 on the season.

All three Nationals teams are off next weekend then travel to St. Louis for matches against Scott Gallagher Missouri and Scott Gallagher Metro on April 11 and 12 before opening their spring home schedule April 18 and 19 against the Chicago Fire and the Indiana Fire at their home complex in Germantown.
