Hapoel Haifa striker Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) was called in to the Canadian national team for a training camp and two friendlies later this month, the team's final gathering before starting CONCACAF 2018 World Cup qualifying in June.

The 27-year-old Ricketts is one of 23 players named to the roster by coach Benito Floro ahead of friendlies against Guatemala on March 27 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and against Puerto Rico on March 30 in Bayamon. The camp starts Sunday in Orlando.

Canada will learn its opponent for the second round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying during the camp, as the British Virgin Islands and Dominica play their home-and-home, first-round series on March 26 and 29. The winner will take on the Canadians on June 8 and 16 in another home-and-home series.

Ricketts has seven goals in his 35 appearances (20 starts) for Canada, which also will be preparing for July's CONCACAF Gold Cup. He's scored three goals in 29 matches for Hapoel Haifa so far in his first season with the Israeli club.
