Feb. 5, 2010: Jesse Marsch (Racine Case) retired after a 14-year career in Major League Soccer, and accepted a position as an assistant on the U.S. national team coaching staff under manager Bob Bradley. The defensive midfielder made 358 appearances for D.C. United, Chicago Fire and Chivas USA during his career, and also earned two caps for the national team – in 2001 and '07. Marsch, one of the final "MLS originals" to end his playing career, was one of the most decorated players in league history, having been part of three teams that won MLS Cup titles and collecting four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup winner's medals.
