Waukesha's Riley Christensen had a goal and an assist as the U.S. Youth Futsal Under-16 girls national team closed out its matches at the Goodwill Challenge with a 15-0 rout of Canada on Dec. 31 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

The Under-16 girls team went 2-1-0 at the event, opening with a 7-3 victory over Futsal Canada on Dec. 29 before a 7-6 loss to Strikers Elite a day later. The four U.S. sides finished with a 10-1-1 record in the program's first international competition.

Keith Tozer, the former Milwaukee Wave coach who is the U.S. Futsal National team coach and the technical director for U.S. Youth Futsal, led the teams at the event. Mark Litton (Racine St. Catherine's/UW-Parkside), Tozer's assistant with the national team and the director of goalkeeping for U.S. Youth Futsal, was among the assistants.

Christensen is a junior at Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School and helped the Crusaders win the WIAA Division 3 girls state championship last June.

This year's U.S. Youth Futsal national team identification cycle is underway, with regional camps across the country. Selected players will attend the National ID Camp from July 8 to 12 in Kansas City, from which the next set of national teams will be selected – those teams will participate in a tournament in Costa Rica later this year.
