Three players who helped the Maranatha Baptist men's soccer team win its first National Christian College Athletic Association Division II national title last month earned spots on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American team.

Senior defender Drew De Lozier (Watertown Maranatha Baptist), senior midfielder Taylor Pill (Watertown) and sophomore forward Wira Wama were all named to the 11-player NCCAA Division II team for the Sabercats (13-6-1), who rallied past Ohio Christian 2-1 in last month's national championship game.

De Lozier finished the season with six goals and three assists, while Pill added four goals and a team-best 10 assists. Wama, a former Papua New Guinea youth international, led Maranatha Baptist with 14 goals and contributed four assists. All three played with the Madison 56ers in the National Premier Soccer League last summer.

  • Defender Courtney Dunn (Oshkosh) and midfielder Audrey Risma, a pair of sophomores who helped Maranatha Baptist advance to the women's national championship game, made the NCCAA Division II All-America team. Both Dunn and Risma finished the season with one assist for the Sabercats (9-9-2), who lost to top-seeded Clearwater Christian (Fla.) 2-0 in the national final.
  • Trinity International (Ill.) juniors Samantha Yasatan (Racine Case) and Morgan Elzinga (Wisconsin Rapids), who earned NAIA All-America honors earlier this week, also claimed spots on NCCAA Division I teams. Yasatan, a  forward who had a program-record 29 goals and nine assists, made the first team after being a second-team selection in 2013. Elzinga, a midfielder who was second on the team with 16 goals (eight game-winners) and added 13 assists, landed on the second team.
  • Notre Dame junior midfielder Patrick Hodan (Milwaukee Marquette) and Marquette senior goalkeeper Charlie Lyon are among the 25 finalists for the Soccer News Net College Boot national men's player of the year award. Hodan led the Fighting Irish with nine goals (five game-winners) and added three assists as he was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Lyon finished the season with a 0.74 goals-against average for the Golden Eagles, and had a school-record shutout streak of nearly 805 minutes, the 10th-longest streak in NCAA Division I men's history. Fans can vote for the award through Dec. 23. (Vote here)
  • UW-Parkside's Troy Fabiano (Kenosha Bradford) was named the NSCAA NCAA Division II Midwest Region women's Coach of the Year. The Rangers (18-1-3) finished the season ranked 10th in the country and led the nation with a 0.265 goals-against average – they allowed just six goals in 22 matches, posting 16 clean sheets. Fabiano also won the regional award in 2010.
