Hapoel Haifa striker Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) is one of eight candidates for the Canadian men's national team Player of the Year.

The award, which is voted on by Canadian media members and coaches, recognizes the program's top player for the calendar year. Accomplishments for both the national team and club teams are taken into consideration.

The 27-year-old Ricketts scored two goals in five appearances for Canada this year and has five goals in club play -- he had three in 12 matches for Bucaspor in Turkey's second-tier 1. Lig and has scored twice in 14 appearances for Hapoel Haifa in Israel's top-level Ligat ha'Al.

Voting concludes Dec. 14, with the winner to be announced between Dec. 15 and 19.
