For the second time in 20 days, the Milwaukee Wave traveled south to face the St. Louis Ambush in a Major Arena Soccer League match Friday night.

And the for second time, the Wave posted an 8-4 victory over the Ambush at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

Luan Sales Oliveira and Ian Bennett scored two goals apiece, Marcio Leite had four assists – his first of the season – and 41-year-old Marcelo Fontana added a goal and an assist as Milwaukee (3-1) won its second straight game.

Elvir Kafedzic gave St. Louis (1-3) the lead just 48 seconds into the match, but Fontana equalized at the 10:37 mark and the Wave wouldn't trail again.

Goals by Tenzin Rampa (Madison West/UW-Milwaukee) and Oliveira gave Milwaukee a 3-1 halftime lead. The Ambush pulled within a goal two more times in the fourth quarter, but Pablo Da Silva and J.C. Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) restored the Wave's two-goal cushion each time.

Bennett sealed the victory by scoring his fourth and fifth goals of the season, one behind team leader Oliveira, in a 2:01 span.

Player-assistant coach Nick Vorberg made 12 saves in his second win in as many appearances this season; he also was in goal in the previous win over St. Louis. He is the lone goalkeeper on the Wave's roster after Marcel Feenstra suffered a season-ending knee injury last Saturday.

Milwaukee closes out its season-opening, five-game road trip at the Chicago Mustangs (1-2) – last season's Professional Arena Soccer League champions – at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The match will be streamed live on ESPN3.

Forward Hewerton Moreira, who played seven seasons with the Wave over two stints with the team (2004 to '06 and 2009 to '14), signed with the Mustangs on Friday.

The Ambush and Milwaukee will meet again on Dec. 6 in the Wave's home opener at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
