WSCA boys state polls: Sept. 28, 2014

There were changes at the top in two of the four divisions of the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state boys rankings this week.

Whitefish Bay traded spots with Brookfield East and took over the No. 1 spot in the Division 2 poll, while Grafton did the same with Waukesha Catholic Memorial in Division 3.

Milwaukee Marquette remained first in Division 1 after beating Rockhurst (Mo.) 2-0 and Aurora Regis (Colo.) 5-2 at the Jesuit Classic in Arlington, Va., while the Division 4 rankings were the same for the second straight week, led by No. 1 Racine Prairie School.

The panel of voters dropped Brookfield East to second in Division 2 after the Spartans tied Sussex Hamilton 1-1 in their lone match of the week, extending their unbeaten streak to nine (7-0-2). Whitefish Bay is unbeaten in its past 12 matches (11-0-1).

Eighteen of the 20 ranked teams also were in the top five in their respective divisions in last week's poll – the only newcomers are in Division 3, where Seymour and Luxemburg-Casco moved up from honorable mention to Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
