Sept. 4, 1995: A record crowd of 4,532 packed the McClimon Complex to see top-ranked North Carolina beat the University of Wisconsin 3-1 in a Labor Day matinee. Aubrey Falk and Rakel Karvelsson gave the Tar Heels a 2-0 lead, but the 10th-ranked Badgers pulled one back in the 67th minute when Marci Miller headed a ball down for Cathy Strey (Madison Memorial) to tap in. U.S. women's national teamer Debbie Keller, though, sealed the victory in the 87th minute as North Carolina improved to an astounding 99-1-1 in the previous four seasons. The largest crowd for a UW men's match at McClimon is 2,470, set just more than a month later on Oct. 13, 1995.
