The Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association announced its preseason state rankings – and last year's WIAA state qualifiers feature prominently.

All four defending state champions will start the 2014 season atop their respective divisions, while 14 of the 16 teams that made last year's state semifinals are ranked.

Muskego (Division 1), Oregon (Division 2), Ashland (Division 3) and Milwaukee University School (Division 4) are the state's No. 1 teams, while all four of the 2013 state runners-up – Green Bay Preble, Cedarburg, Green Bay Notre Dame and Racine Prairie School – are ranked second.

The only two teams that advanced to the state tournament last fall and aren't ranked in the preseason polls are Division 2 Pewaukee and Marshfield; both sides are honorable mention in their divisions.

Milwaukee Marquette, which is 21st in the Top Drawer Soccer Fab 50 national rankings, checks in at No. 4 in the Division 1 poll. The first regular-season games are scheduled for Tuesday.

Honorable mention: Kettle Moraine (20-4-1), Brookfield Central (5-7-1), Neenah (16-3-1), Madison Memorial (14-6-0), Eau Claire Memorial (19-4-2).

Honorable mention: Wauwatosa West (13-7-0), Pewaukee (20-1-3), Wauwatosa East (10-10-1), Marshfield (18-5-3).

Honorable mention: Grafton (20-3-2), Mount Horeb (14-8-2), Shorewood (8-7-2).

Honorable mention: Racine St. Catherine's (8-11-2), Kettle Moraine Lutheran (12-6-1), Milwaukee Thomas More (15-4-1), Milwaukee St. Anthony (15-9-2), Sheboygan Christian-Lutheran (23-1-0).
