U.S. Youth Futsal announced the sport's inaugural youth national teams on Tuesday – and a Wisconsin girl was one of the 84 players named to the squads.

Waukesha Catholic Memorial's Riley Christensen is one of 14 players chosen for the first Under-16 girls national team.

Players were selected after a National ID Camp last month that featured more than 300 players and was led by Keith Tozer – the former Milwaukee Wave coach is the U.S. Futsal National team coach and the technical director for U.S. Youth Futsal.

Boys and girls national teams were selected for the Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 age groups, with 14 players on each team. The teams will travel to an international event next winter, with Tozer and goalkeeper coach Mark Litton (Racine St. Catherine's/UW-Parkside) leading the sides.

Christensen, who is heading into her junior year at Catholic Memorial, was part of the Crusaders' WIAA Division 3 state championship soccer team in the spring.
