June 22, 1952: Louis Platnik scored twice for the Richard Rich Tigers, but Fritz Kappel's second-half goal gave FC Bayern No. 1 a 2-2 draw in the "grudge" battle at Old Heidelberg Park in Milwaukee. Art Wilhelm put the Bayerns ahead before Platnik scored on either side of halftime for the Tigers in a highly anticipated rematch – the teams' meeting earlier in the season ended in a "free-for-all," according to the Milwaukee Sentinel. The Bayerns and Serbians finished the spring season tied for the lead in the Wisconsin State League with 10 points, with the unbeaten Tigers third with nine points.
