UW-Green Bay is searching for a new women's soccer coach, as Trevor Warren announced this week that he will retire next month.

Warren – who will retire effective July 11 – compiled a 24-57-21 overall record in six seasons in charge of the Phoenix, including a 13-17-10 mark in Horizon League play. Green Bay was 4-8-5 overall and 1-5-1 in the league last fall.

“I've enjoyed my six seasons at the helm of the women's soccer team and had the pleasure of working with some talented and very hard working players, both in and out of the classroom,” said Warren, who was named the 10th coach in program history on Jan. 17, 2008. “I'm sure they will have a very successful season.”

Warren led the Phoenix to a 5-7-4 record in his first year, but they didn't surpass that win total again – though they did match it in 2012, going 5-11-1. Green Bay didn't win more than two Horizon League games in any season in his tenure, making the postseason conference tournament only once (2009).

Off the field, the Phoenix earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award each season under Warren.

"We want to thank Trevor for leading our women’s soccer program for the past six years," Green Bay athletic director Mary Ellen Gillespie said in a news release. "Under Trevor’s direction, this program has been committed to student-athlete academics and recruiting women who can compete in the classroom and on the field. We wish him all the best in his retirement and future endeavors."

Before taking over the Phoenix, Warren compiled a 103-38-7 record in eight years as head coach at NCAA Division II programs Mercyhurst and Lock Haven in Pennsylvania and served as an assistant at Portland and Northern Illinois.

He led Mercyhurst to the Division II quarterfinals in 1991 and semifinals in 1993, his Lock Haven team won regular-season conference titles in 1996 and '97 and he worked under legendary coach Clive Charles at Portland.

Warren, who has a U.S. Soccer Federation "A" coaching license, also has vast experience as a men's coach: he was an assistant at SUNY-Brockport, Gannon (Pa.) and Portland and was the head coach at Mercyhurst.

During his time at UW-Green Bay, Warren also coached girls players in the Wisconsin  Olympic Development Program.
